Let me tell you a little known, but very true story. When our soldiers were overseas during World War I, they fell in love with the inviting, aged and patinaed old homes of Francehomes that gave them feelings of warmth in their otherwise desolate days. Upon returning home after the war, they decided to build romantic cottages such as the Layette for themselves; thus, introducing to our shores the symmetry, quaintness and detail of classical French architecture. And as all classics do, they remain and endure gracefully the test of time.
